Just Don’t Quit
The hard season you’re in will not go on forever… remember that.
There are seasons when being an entrepreneur is so damn hard that I find myself questioning everything.
Every decision.
Every action.
Every conversation.
Myself.
I question and doubt and second guess. And then I remind myself that it’s normal to question everything. It’s normal to struggle on this journey. It’s normal for it to be hard.
We all go through it. We all have the doubts. We all wonder if we are cut out for this life. For the challenges. For the extreme highs and lows.
Every client I’ve ever had has asked me if I’ve ever thought about quitting.
Uhhh, only daily.
The question might be there daily “why don’t you just quit”, but the answer is always the same. “Not today.”
Truthfully some days are closer to a ‘today is the day’ than others, but it always ends up being a ‘not today’.
Recently a client told me that her goal was to get me to quit my business and come work for her full time. My response was silence. Yes, i was a tiny bit flattered that this client wanted that outcome, but in my heart I knew immediately that it was never going to happen. There was no amount of money or job title that could make that happen.
Regardless of how tough the season is, the only option is to push forward. I simply do not want to work for anyone else. Embrace the season and know that the entrepreneurial life is filled with ups and downs.
